Sometimes I look to nature for inspiration. Burning Embers was created on a fall evening by the campfire. I had already started this art piece and felt like I was missing something. We started the campfire and as I let it dry, I realized I needed some texture, it was too flat. I used the debris from the fire, like crunchy leaves and wild grass to give this piece some body. The gold and copper hues remind me of a cozy fire on a fall day.
